Day Camp Coordinator

Oliver & District Recreation is seeking a full-time Day Camp Coordinator. Reporting to the Recreation Programmer, the primary focus of this position is to manage Day Camp Leaders at summer camp programs.

Key Job Duties and Functions
• Working with the Recreation Programmer to provide, support, management and direction for a team of staff, as well as management of petty cash and program budgets
• Supervise, mentor and evaluate Day Camp Leaders
• Ensure staff follow workplace policies, including first aid reporting and OH & S procedures
• Plan, implement, and facilitate age-appropriate activities for children ages 5-14
• Ensure all activities are delivered in a safe, inclusive and engaging manner
• Liaise with schools, parents, caregivers, social workers and other camp programs
• Manage daily attendance, camp bookings and reservations of buses
• Oversee Day Camp Leader payroll
• Complete mid-summer and final program reports
• Communicate weekly/monthly schedules to parents/caregivers
• Communicate and interact courteously and professionally with parents/caregivers, participants, co-workers, and public

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong leadership and organizational abilities
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Knowledge of age-appropriate activities for school-aged children
• Ability to maintain a safe, fun, and structured program environment

Required Training and Experience
• Valid First Aid & CPR certification (required)
• Minimum of two years of experience working with children ages 5-14 in a camp, childcare or recreation program
• Experience in babysitting or coaching (asset)
• Class 4 driver’s license (asset)
• Interest in recreation, education, child/youth care or social sciences
• Education or coursework in child development, recreation, social services, or related fields

Hours of Work
Monday, June 15th, 2026 – Friday, August 28th, 2026 (Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with flexible availability between 7am and 5pm). This contract position has a salary range of $26.00-$28.00 per hour, plus 4% in lieu of vacation
