NOTICE TO OLIVER RESIDENTS
CANADA GOOSE HUNTING SEASON
The Town of Oliver has issued six exemptions under Firearms and Explosives Bylaw 644, as amended. These exemptions will allow the permit holders to discharge firearms within the Town of Oliver specifically for the purpose of hunting Canada Geese during the provincially-established hunting season from September 20 to November 28, 2011; December 20, 2011 to January 5, 2012; and February 22 to March 10, 2012, inclusive.
The holders of these exemptions must follow all provincial and federal hunting regulations and receive permission from affected land owners before discharging a firearm. In conjunction with the exemptions, the Town of Oliver has granted specific permission to these six special permit holders to discharge firearms on public land at the Oliver Airport and surrounding Tuc-el-Nuit Lake.
