Housing for Healthcare Workers

In November 2025, the Town broke ground on the Housing for Healthcare Workers site, a vital initiative designed to provide much-needed accommodations for visiting medical professionals at the South Okanagan General Hospital.

This project represents a major step toward strengthening access to quality healthcare in our region. By offering additional housing options, we aim to reduce staffing shortages and support those who dedicate their time and expertise to caring for our community. Each unit features two bedrooms.

On Friday, April 24th, 2026, the Town of Oliver was proud to celebrate the official ribbon cutting for the Housing for Healthcare Workers units, an initiative created to support visiting and transitional healthcare workers serving the South Okanagan General Hospital and surrounding communities.

The event was very well attended, with approximately 60 people coming out to celebrate this milestone. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us to mark the grand opening and show their support for this important project

We’re grateful for the dedication of our healthcare workers and pleased to help create housing that supports them in living and working locally.

Thank you to our partners, supporters, and everyone who helped make these homes a reality.
