The Town is focused on ensuring that essential services are provided for residents and businesses, particularly, Fire, Water, Sewer, and Garbage/Recycling Collection. Waste Connections advise that the schedule has not changed with weekly garbage pick up and bi-weekly recycling or yard waste collection. Please contact Waste Connections of Canada if you have a question at 250 498 4888.
The safety and well-being of Oliver and area residents, including our staff, is of utmost importance to Council. The Town of Oliver is and will continue to follow the advice of the Provincial Health Officer with regard to provision of services to the community. It is recognized that the situation is changing rapidly and the message from the Provincial Health Officer is to take precautions now to minimize the effect on ourselves and our families and not overload our healthcare system.
Concerns relating to gatherings of more than 50 people has resulted in the postponement of upcoming open houses and the Spirit of Oliver Award event (the Town will continue to receive nominations until the end of March).
Mayor and Council would like to thank our staff and our community for doing your part to protect their health and that of your loved ones. Support your friends and neighbors who are most vulnerable, if you have an elderly neighbor, or someone who has medical issues, ask them if they are OK, or if they need anything.
