Extreme Cold and Arctic Outflow Warnings

The Town of Oliver is encouraging residents to be prepared for the cold weather that is expected to arrive today and settle in the valley until at least Tuesday, January 16th.

The BC Housing and the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Oliver are working on an extreme weather response shelter. Details of the opening hours and days for the shelter will be posted on the Town of Oliver’s Social Media as they are confirmed. The Seventh-Day Adventist Church is located at 748 Similkameen Avenue.

We all need to be prepared, watch the weather, and look out for those who are most vulnerable.
• Look after loved ones so they aren't outside for long periods of time
• Dress in warm winter clothing if going outdoors
• Put together an emergency kit for power outages
• Bring food, water and warm clothes when travelling by vehicle
