Volunteer Appreciation Lunch and Spirit of Oliver Awards Presentation
Oliver Mayor and Council and the Oliver Parks & Recreation Society will be recognizing its volunteers time and efforts to support community activities, charitable services and local special events. The Volunteer Lunch and Spirit of Oliver Awards presentation is scheduled for August 20, 2021 at Oliver Parks & Recreation Community Hall.
Spirit of Oliver awards started with the “Oliver Good Citizen Award” that was donated by the Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1950 with the first recipient being Harold Wright. Recognition of residents has evolved over the years to the Spirit of Oliver Awards presenting in the following categories – Community Roots, Group, Youth, Individual, and Community Builder. The 2020 Spirit of Oliver Event is being held during the 100×100 Festival that marks 100 years of the Oliver community during the week of August 13 – 22. For more information on this festival please visit 100×100 – Oliver Parks & Recreation (oliverrecreation.ca)
