Open Burning Restrictions are in place for the residents in the Oliver Fire Protection Area effective March 26, 2020 to April 15, 2020. No new fires may be initiated and no additional material may be added to existing fires. The ban includes all properties within the Town of Oliver and Electoral Area C (rural Oliver).
As cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in BC continues to increase, the BC Centre for Disease Control recommended implementing measures to help reduce excess air pollution in populated airsheds across the province.
This ban does not include campfires and fires in portable wood burning fireplaces. The ban does not restrict fires in stoves using gas, propane or briquettes.
To report a fire, unattended campfire or fire violations, call 911.
