Kitchen Catcher Pickup
Oliver residents are encouraged to drop by the Town of Oliver’s Finance Office, located across the alley from the Municipal Town Hall, to pick up their kitchen catchers. All homes that receive yard waste collection in Oliver are eligible to receive a kitchen catcher.
Pick up starts Tuesday, February 18th, from 9:00am – 4:00pm, and every business day after.
The Town has scheduled three after-hour pick up days on:
Tuesday, February 25th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Tuesday, March 4th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Tuesday, March 11th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Starting the week of April 7th, 2025, the collection frequency will change. Organics/Yard Waste (green lid carts) will be picked up weekly. Garbage (black lid carts) and Recycling (blue lid carts) will be picked up on alternating weeks.

This initiative is crucial for extending the lifespan of the Oliver landfill, modernizing the Town's solid waste program, and aligning with a program already embraced by approximately 3.7 million British Columbia residents.
To assist with this change, the Town of Oliver began preparing residents in March 2024 for the launch. To help familiarize yourself with the program, the Town of Oliver has created three “Frequently Asked Questions” documents that can be accessed here https://www.oliver.ca/solidwaste.
