• Tykes and Children's Programs

  Discover a world of playful learning and active adventures for your little ones with our diverse range of programs at Oliver Parks and Recreation. Explore creative and independent learning with hands-on activities from Loose Parts Play, to Active Start, Tball, and Soccer, there are several engaging socializing and playtime opportunity for toddlers or join in on the fun.

  Children can look forward to Art, Boxing, Soccer, Ninja-Warriors, and workshops like Stay Safe/Home Alone  there's something for every interest. 

  Don't miss our Summer Day Camp offerings filled with games, crafts, sports, team-building and fun. Pre-registration is required, so sign up early to secure your child's spot.

• Youth Programs

  Explore exciting opportunities for youth engagement at Oliver Parks and Recreation with our diverse range of programs tailored for ages 9-17.  Develop essential life skills with the Babysitter's Course (Ages 11-15) focusing on safety, emergencies, and first aid basics. Elevate your confidence and learn something new in boxing, ninja warriors or canoeing, job-preparedness workshops, or new disc golf workshops.

• Adult Programs

  Embark on a journey to well-being with our adult programs at Oliver Parks and Recreation, catering to ages 16 and above. Join Function Fit, a beginner to intermediate fitness class designed to increase strength, range of movement, and flexibility for daily activities. Experience the perfect blend of strength training, Pilates and Yoga in the Morning Mash Up class for a complete full-body workout.

  We host a variety of yoga classes including chair yoga, yoga stretch and gentle yoga.

  Explore emergency response skills with the Emergency First Aid – CPR C course, covering recognition and response to potential dangers, cardiovascular emergencies, and more. 

  We are proud to host Small Steps for Big Changes a Diabetes Prevention Program offering an evidence-based lifestyle program for those at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, incorporating physical activity and sustainable dietary changes.

• No Cost/Low Cost Programs

  At Oliver Parks and Recreation we don’t want to see anyone left out. We want to assist with being able to participate in programs. Here are a few financial assistance options available.

  JumpStart
  Who we fund is simple: kids. Kids who want to get active. Kids who want to learn a new sport or activity. Kids who want to keep up with a sport or activity they already enjoy. But these kids just need a little extra financial help to get their name on the roster. Kids aged 4 to 18 from families in financial need can receive funding to help with registration fees, equipment and/or transportation. Applications are submiited online: www.jumpstart.canadiantire.ca

  Anyone Can Join
  Anyone Can Join is a sponsorship program supported by local organizations like OFD, WOW, Kiwanis, No Frills, Buy Low foods, and the Oliver Elks to provide financial assistance to Oliver/Area “C” children, youth and adults towards registration into recreation programs of their choice, up to $100.00 per person per calendar year. Families or individuals in need of assistance are asked to complete and submit an application form at the Oliver Community Centre. Each form is reviewed in confidence by the Recreation Manager and applicants are registered directly into the program using funds provided by sponsors. 

• Guidelines and Policies

  Program Age Policy
  Tykes: Child must be the listed age at the start of the program.
  Children: Child must be the listed age by Dec 31 of that year.
  Day Camps: Children registering must have completed Kindergarten

  Registration Guidelines

  • Fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.

  • Course Full? Add your name to a waitlist so we can contact you if space becomes available or classes are added.

  • Cancellations: Classes may be cancelled due to low registration numbers. Register early to avoid disappointment.

  • Classes Missed due to illness, weather, power failures or other events beyond our control will not be refunded or credited.

  • Change of Plans? Unless advised otherwise:

    • If you withdraw or transfer before the course start date, a full refund or credit will be issued.

    • If you withdraw or transfer on or after course start date, or to the end of the 3rd class, a pro-rated refund or credit for the remainder of classes will be issued.

    • Pro-rated refunds or credits after the 3rd class will only be considered for special circumstances.

    • Priority One Trauma courses (Emergency First Aid, Babysitter's, Home Alone/Stay Safe) are subject to 2-day cancellations or no refunds. Transfer into the next offered course is preferred.
