International Purple Day® for Epilepsy Awareness Day - March 26, 2025 - Purple Day is celebrated annually, during Epilepsy Awareness Month, to increase the knowledge and understanding of epilepsy that will improve the quality of life of British Columbians living with epilepsy.
Fibromyalgia Awareness Day - May 12, 2025 - In support of the Fibromyalgia Awareness Campaign, the Town of Oliver Council has proclaimed May 12th, 2025 as “Fibromyalgia Awareness Day”. This complex chronic pain disorder brings widespread body pain, fatigue, sleep troubles, sensitivity to touch, light, and sound, plus cognitive challenges.

International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia – May 17, 2024 - A worldwide celebration of sexual and gender diversity. In support, the Town of Oliver will raise the Pride Flag at Town Hall.
Pride Month - Month of June, 2024 - The Town of Oliver Council has proclaimed June 1st - June 30th as “Pride Month”. The Town of Oliver is an inclusive and accepting community that provides opportunities for everyone to come together and celebrate their diversity. We affirm and encourage the inclusion of everyone, regardless of ability, age, class, race, creed, religion, sex, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. By recognizing the dignity and worth of all people, and honoring and respecting our differences, we can participate as individuals and members of our diverse community.
BC Seniors Week – June 2 to June 8, 2024 - During Seniors’ Week, we acknowledge and appreciate seniors' invaluable contributions to our communities in B.C., encompassing their wisdom, dedication to family, and shaping of society.
Hope Air Day - June 17, 2024 - Access to healthcare is a fundamental right for all citizens, regardless of their geographic location. Hope Air, a charitable organization, has been tirelessly dedicated to providing access to healthcare by facilitating free flights and other services for patients living in rural and under-served communities in British Columbia, ensuring they can receive vital medical treatment regardless of distance or financial means.
National Drowning Prevention Week - July 21 to July 27, 2024 - Knowing July sees the peak of water-related incidents each year, the Lifesaving Society chooses the 3rd week of July as National Drowning Prevention Week (NDPW). This is a public awareness campaign each year to build community and media support for the drowning prevention cause.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month - October 2024 - The Town of Oliver Council has proclaimed October 1st - 31st, 2024 as “Domestic Violence Awareness Month”.

- National Drowning Prevention Week July 16 – 22, 2023. Raising awareness of preventable drownings through Water Smart education and a healthy respect for the potential danger that any body of water may present to be able to genuinely enjoy the beauty and recreation opportunities offered by bodies of water.
- Pride Month June 1 - 30, 2023. The Town of Oliver acknowledges and celebrates the local 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
- Longest Day of SMILES® June 18th, 2023. Raising awareness and funds to help a child born with a cleft condition smile and change their life with free, safe, cleft surgery and comprehensive care.

Access Awareness Day also falls within National AccessAbility Week which is celebrated from May 29th to June 4th, 2022. National AccessAbility Week is designed to celebrate and recognize the contributions that individuals living with disabilities make in their communities every day.
