Station Street Concept Plan

The 2020 concept for station street and plaza area needed review: 

• to address an identified need for housing in the town center.
• recognize that amenities outlined in the preferred 2020 plaza concept plan were not financially feasible.

In recognition of the past work (and to not start all over again), Council direction was to:

• ensure an updated concept utilized past planning principles.
• include design elements aligned with 2020 public input and
  interests.

     2023

• Review Previous Work.
• Reaffirm principles and objectives.

• Assess new ideas and possibilities.

  2024

• Draft preliminary concepts
• Meetings to review concepts and select preferred elements.
• Refine concept.
• Preferred draft concept for the Station Street area.

• Public review and input. refine concept.

  2025

• Request for Proposals (RFP) for the old RV lot. Preliminary design proposal and sale.
• Conduct a preliminary civil design for developing the Visitor Centre lot, including servicing upgrades, parking lot enhancements and expanded landscaping.
• Conduct a preliminary design and cost estimates for the outdoor plaza and destination playground. Seek grant opportunities.
