Whether you're gliding on the ice or enjoying events on the dry floor, our arena offers a versatile space for various interests. From ice skating and hockey to public skating sessions suitable for all ages, there's something for everyone. Join us for learn-to-skate lessons, and special parent and child skating sessions for quality family time on the ice. Proudly hosting the South Okanagan Skating Club, and South Okanagan Minor Hockey the arena is a community space where skating enthusiasts gather.

Public Skating - Mon/Wed/Fri: Mar 11. 12:00-1:00pm. Regular admission and rental fees apply.
Lion's Club - Weekend Public Skating - Finished for the year! Thank you, Oliver Lion's Club, for 10+ years of Free Admission and an amazing Concession!
Valley First - Weekend Public Skating - Sat/Sun: Mar 15 (6:00-7:15pm), Mar 22, Mar 28 5:30-6:45 - Free Admission - Regular skate rental fees apply.
Family Shinny Hockey - Sunday's: No remaining scheduled dates. 3:45-5:15pm $5.10+GST per participant. Does not include skate rentals.
A recreational opportunity for families to skate, pass, and shoot pucks No experience required players can learn on the ice. Parents are encouraged to play with their children. Required equipment: CSA approved hockey gloves and helmet, additional protective gear recommended. Bring your own stick. Open to players and goalies.
Parent And Tot Skating - Thursdays Mar 12, 9:00-10:00am $5.10/Parent and Tot visit. (*tax exempt*) does not include skate rentals
A Great opportunity for tykes ages 5 and under and their caregivers to give ice skating a try without the crowds! Visit with other children and their caregivers and practice skating during this tots-only time. Strollers are welcome (Operator must wear skates). Plastic Skate Aids will be available. An on-ice assistant will be on the ice to provide tips, and a hand up when needed.
Drop-in Hockey - Wednesdays, Mar 11,9:30AM TO 11:30AM $7.50 drop in (*includes GST*)

How is space allocated?

Our recreation facilities are allocated based on our Recreation Facility Allocation Policy.

The Town provides user groups with bookable spaces in a fair and equitable manner to improve the quality of life and leisure pursuits of residents and visitors.

Space demand often exceeds availability resulting in the following priorities for the allocation of recreation space (the following allocation order is for ice/arena space only):

Town of Oliver/Oliver & District Recreation sponsored programs, services, and events (including Tourism-based activities supported by the Town), and Council/RDOS endorsed activities
Youth Non-Profit
Adult Non-Profit
School Group Local (Monday to Friday during school hours)
Local Private
Tourism
Non-Resident
School Group Non-Local (Monday-Friday during school hours)
Commercial
