• How To Apply

  Submit your resume and cover letter to Corporate Services at admin@oliver.ca or in-person by visiting Town Hall, 6150 Main Street. 

• Senior Youth Councillor

  Applicants for Senior Youth Councillor must:

  • Be a grade 11 or 12 student enrolled at or reside in the catchment area for South Okanagan Secondary School.
  • Be willing to attend Council meetings, town events, regional events and meetings as requested. 
• Junior Youth Councillor

  Applicants for Junior Youth Councillor must:

  • Be a grade 9 or 10 student enrolled at or reside in the catchment area for South Okanagan Secondary School.
  • Be willing to attend Council meetings, town events, regional events and meetings as requested. 
• B.C Youth Parliament Session

  The Town of Oliver will sponsor the Senior Youth Councillor to attend the B.C. Youth Parliament Session in Victoria, B.C. held in December each year. Travel expenses that are not compensated by B.C. Youth Parliament will be approved for the Senior Youth Councillor to attend the B.C. Youth Parliament Session that takes place in Victoria, B.C. and any other workshops or activities as part of the one-year commitment required by B.C. Youth Parliament.

• Senior Youth Councillor Scholarship

  The Town of Oliver will provide a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to the Senior Youth Councillor, provided that the Senior Youth Councillor meets the following criteria.

  • Graduates from South Okanagan Secondary School during their term as Senior Youth Councillor.
  • Begins any post-secondary school education program (University, College, Trade School , etc.) that will lead to a degree, diploma or certificate within 2 years of completing their term as Senior Youth Councillor. 
  • Provides final proof of registration/attendance in a post-secondary institution within 2 years following the term as Senior Youth Councillor.
  • Completes entire term in the position of Senior Youth Councillor.
