• Billing Inquiries and Payments

  Billing Inquiries

  Contact the Town's Utility Clerk for consumption, meter or billing inquiries at 250-485-6253 or email finance@oliver.ca.

  Payments

  In Person at the Finance Department

  Cash, cheques and debit cards are accepted in office. Post dated cheques are also accepted.

  Cheques by Mail - with the current postal strike, please pay in person or online.

  Cheques can be mailed to Town of Oliver Box 638, Oliver, BC V0H 1T0. Please allow sufficient time for delivery. The Town Finance Department must receive the payment by tax due date.

  Credit Card (online only)

  Credit cards are not accepted at Town Hall or Finance.  Credit Card Payments are available ONLINE ONLY with a 2.5% service fee. Please click here to make your payment.  Note: The service fee is not collected by the Town, it is collected by the credit card provider.

  IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Please insure that you are paying the correct account (Utilities versus Property Taxes) and the correct account number. Misallocated payments will only be corrected on a one-time basis. Subsequent payment adjustments will be subject to a $25.00 administration fee.
  • If you have recently moved, you MUST update your bank payee with new property tax and utility account numbers. Otherwise, your payments will go to your previous property, and will require an adjustment. 
  • The Town does not consider a postmark or a teller stamp as proof of payment.
  • E-TRANSFERS are NOT accepted.

  Pre-Authorized Payments

  If your banking information changes, please contact the finance department and provide updated banking information. Email  or call 250-485-6203.

• Garbage and Recycling Rates

  The municipal waste collection service provides once-a-week, curbside collection of mixed refuse.

  Additional Bins and Cart Changes

  Additional charges may apply if you wish to change bins to larger sizes and/or request additional bins. Please complete our Cart Change Out Form and submit via email or in person at the Town Hall. 

• Moving

  The utility account number is linked to the property. If you have sold or purchased your property Land Titles will notify the Finance Department with the updated information.

  You can change your mailing address at the Finance Department. Please note that you will also need contact BC Assessment at 1-866-825-8322 or complete the online address change form.

• Sewer Rates

• Water Meters

  Your meter is radio transmitted. The reader drives down your street and information automatically transmits to a mobile device located in the vehicle. The meter is read every month.

  Read Your Meter

  Read your meter by shining a bright flashlight on the digital display. The last four digits on the right are decimal places. Look at the numbers on the left of the decimal.

  Identify A Leak

  If you receive a ‘leak letter’ in the mail please investigate or call a plumber to assist with locating a leak. The Town of Oliver cannot tell you what is leaking within your home or business.
