Town of Oliver Announces Chief Administrative Officer’s Retirement

Chief Administrative Officer Wayne Anderson will be retiring at the end of June, having joined the Town of Oliver in May 2022.

Anderson shared, “During my time in local government, I’ve been fortunate to accomplish many of my career goals - and in the past few years, I’ve had the absolute pleasure of working alongside an incredible team here in Oliver.”

“After nearly 30 years working directly for municipalities and consulting with local government clients - including four years with the Town of Oliver, first as Chief Financial Officer and then as Chief Administrative Officer - I have decided that the time has come to retire from public service. I look forward to spending more time with my family, travelling, and enjoying all that Oliver has to offer. My plan is to officially retire at the end of June 2026,” Anderson said.

Mayor Martin Johansen stated, “Wayne has been an invaluable part of our organization since the day he joined us in 2022. His leadership, professionalism, and steady guidance have made a lasting impact on both Council and the community. I am especially grateful to have had the opportunity to work closely with him over the past three years. We will miss his calm, thoughtful approach to every challenge.”

On behalf of Council and the Town of Oliver, I extend our sincere thanks to Wayne for his dedication, leadership, and commitment. We wish him every success and happiness as he begins this well-earned next chapter.
