Election Day: Saturday, October 17, 2026

General local elections are the most direct way for the public to influence their local government by choosing the individuals who will make decisions and govern on their behalf following general voting day.
On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the Town of Oliver will conduct an election for:
1 Mayor
4 Councillors
2 Water Councillors
Advanced opportunities for voting will take place on:
Wednesday, October 7, 2026
Thursday, October 8, 2026
All voting will take place at Oliver Community Hall, 8:00am to 8:00pm, 6359 Park Drive, Oliver. Curbside voting will be available outside of Oliver Community Hall for voters who are mobility challenged and unable to enter the voting place.

The names and associated documents below are posted as submitted by Candidate Nominees and are listed in chronological order based on when nomination documents were received.
Please note that this list is not official until the Declaration of Candidates is made by the Chief Election Officer. The official Declaration of Candidates will be published under Notices and Declarations.
The names that will officially appear on the ballot will be confirmed once the Declaration of Election by Voting or by Acclamation is authorized and published by the Chief Election Officer.

Candidates are encouraged to speak to existing elected officials to learn more about the experience and time commitment.
All participants are encouraged to carefully review the available materials, as they are responsible for understanding and complying with all rules and requirements. Failure to comply may result in monetary penalties, so it is important to become familiar with the information before participating.
Candidate Information Session: Friday, August 28, 2026, 3:00pm - 4:00pm Council Chambers, 6173 Kootenay Street. Potential Candidates can come learn about the roles and responsibilities of elected officials and local government before deciding to run this fall. Please note -This is not an opportunity for potential candidates to discuss their platforms.
