• Children's Programs

  Discover a world of playful learning and active adventures for your little ones with our diverse range of children's programs at Oliver Parks and Recreation. From Parent & Tot Gym, providing a perfect socializing and playtime opportunity for toddlers, to Crafty Creations and Active Start fostering creativity and physical literacy, our programs cater to various age groups. 

  Join us for Learn to Skate lessons, an introduction to ice skating for preschoolers, or dive into the exciting world of Loose Parts Play, where children explore creative and independent learning with hands-on activities. With specialized programs like Tyke-Nastics, Ninja-Nastics, and even Boxing for ages 6-14, there's something for every interest. Don't miss our camps, including Pro D Day Camp and Spring Break Camp, offering a day filled with games, sports, and fun. Pre-registration is required, so sign up early to secure your child's spot.

• Youth Programs

  Explore exciting opportunities for youth engagement at Oliver Parks and Recreation with our diverse range of programs tailored for ages 9-17. Dive into the dynamic world of Ninja Warriors (Ages 9-14) where JuJutsu principles are infused with virtues such as discipline, respect, and camaraderie. For those aged 14 and above, our community-oriented Boxing class provides a unique blend of fitness building and fundamental boxing skills. Develop essential life skills with the Babysitter's Course (Ages 11-17), focusing on safety, emergencies, and first aid basics. Elevate your confidence and communication skills through Improv 101 (Ages 13-18), a program designed to enhance storytelling abilities in a fun and supportive environment.

  For outdoor enthusiasts, join the Disc Golf Glo Party (Ages 12-17) for a vibrant, glow-in-the-dark disc golf experience. Don your best colorful outfit and bring your discs for a night of illuminated fun. Additionally, our Spring Small Wheels Camp (Ages 7-12) offers a week of skateboarding and scootering skills and tricks led by experienced riders.

• Adult Programs

  Embark on a journey to well-being with our adult programs at Oliver Parks and Recreation, catering to ages 16 and above. Join Function Fit, a beginner to intermediate fitness class designed to increase strength, range of movement, and flexibility for daily activities. Experience the perfect blend of strength training, Pilates, and Yoga in the Morning Mash Up class for a complete full-body workout.

  Indulge in the soothing practice of Tai Chi, a zero-impact, low-risk activity improving concentration, strength, flexibility, and balance. Dive into Yoga Flow, an Ashtanga-style class focusing on strength and endurance through dynamic flow sequences and challenging poses. 

  Engage in Drop-In Pickleball, a fun and easy-to-learn game suitable for all ages and abilities.

  Explore emergency response skills with the Emergency First Aid – CPR C course, covering recognition and response to potential dangers, cardiovascular emergencies, and more. 

  Small Steps for Big Changes offers an evidence-based lifestyle program for those at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, incorporating physical activity and sustainable dietary changes.

  For a unique experience, delve into the art of Natural Dying with Indigo, discovering the magic of indigo dye and exploring ancient Japanese techniques like itajime Shibori.

• No Cost/Low Cost Programs

  At Oliver Parks and Recreation we don’t want to see anyone left out. We want to assist with being able to participate in programs. Here are a few financial assistance options available.

  JumpStart
  Who we fund is simple: kids. Kids who want to get active. Kids who want to learn a new sport or activity. Kids who want to keep up with a sport or activity they already enjoy. But these kids just need a little extra financial help to get their name on the roster. Kids aged 4 to 18 from families in financial need can receive funding to help with registration fees, equipment and/or transportation. www.jumpstart.canadiantire.ca

  Anyone Can Join
  Anyone Can Join is a sponsorship program supported by local organizations like OFD, WOW, Kiwanis, No Frills, Buy Low foods, and the Oliver Elks to provide financial assistance to Oliver/Area “C” children, youth and adults towards registration into recreation programs of their choice, up to $150 per person per calendar year. Families or individuals in need of assistance are asked to complete and submit an application form at the Oliver Community Centre. Each form is reviewed in confidence by the Recreation Supervisor and applicants are registered directly into the program using funds provided by sponsors. Anyone Can Join applications are available at the Oliver Parks and Recreation Office. Jumpstart applications are available on their respective website.

• Guidelines and Policies

  Program Age Policy
  Tykes: Child must be the listed age at the start of the program.
  Children: Child must be the listed age by Dec 31 of that year.
  Day Camps: Children registering must have completed Kindergarten

  Registration Guidelines

  • Fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.

  • Course Full? Add your name to a waitlist so we can contact you if space becomes available or classes are added.

  • Cancellations: Classes may be cancelled due to low registration numbers. Register early to avoid disappointment.

  • Classes Missed due to illness, weather, power failures or other events beyond our control will not be refunded or credited.

  • Change of Plans? Unless advised otherwise:

    • If you withdraw or transfer before the course start date, a full refund or credit will be issued.

    • If you withdraw or transfer on or after course start date, or to the end of the 3rd class, a pro-rated refund or credit for the remainder of classes will be issued.

    • Pro-rated refunds or credits after the 3rd class will only be considered for special circumstances.

  Programs, times and dates may be subject to changes.
